ELIGIBILITY
People of all ages and grade levels are eligible to take the ACT. Most students can
register online and do not need a Register-by-Mail packet.
IMPORTANT TESTING INFORMATION
The ACT is a national college admissions examination that is paper-based. The test
consists of subject area tests in: English, Mathematics, Reading and Science. The
ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 30-minute Writing Test.
ACT results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S.
The ACT includes 215 multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 3 hours and
30 minutes to complete, including a short break (or just over four hours if you are
taking the ACT Plus Writing). Actual testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes (plus
30 minutes if you are taking the ACT Plus Writing).
The ACT is administered on six test dates within the United States, U.S. territories,
Puerto Rico, and Canada 鈥� September, October, December, February, April, and June.
In other locations, the ACT is administered on all of the above dates except September,
and the ACT Plus Writing is not available on the February test date. Registration
is completed online for this exam.
You may request ONLY ONE Register-by-Mail Packet if:
- You are younger than 13 years old, or
- You do not have a credit card or serialized voucher/waiver to pay the fee
- You are an individual student. [Educational institutions or government agencies should use the counselor order form.]
It will be sent via U.S. mail, FedEx, or comparable service. Allow 7鈥�10 working days
for delivery.
DAY OF THE TEST
Students should report to the Ralph Abernathy Annex building, no later than 8:30 a.m.
on test day. Room location will be posted on building entrance doors. A picture
ID along with an admission ticket, are required to take the test. Calculators are

PRAXIS -- PRAXIS II EXAM

WHAT ARE THE PRAXIS II TESTS?
Praxis II Subject Assessments measure knowledge of specific subjects that K鈥�12 educators
will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge.
WHO TAKES THE TESTS AND WHY?
Individuals entering the teaching profession take the Praxis II tests as part of the
teacher licensing and certification process required by many states. Some professional
associations and organizations require Praxis II tests as a criterion for professional
licensing decisions.
WHICH TESTS SHOULD YOU TAKE?
Praxis II: Subject Assessments include over 120 different tests, ranging from Agriculture
to World Languages. The test(s) you take depend(s) on your state or licensing agency's
requirements for the teaching discipline you are pursuing. Each state that uses the
Praxis tests, sets its own requirements for which tests you must take, as well as
the associated passing scores.

COE -- College of Education Exit Exam
The COE is a paper-based test. No fee is required for this exam. The test is administered twice a semester, excluding the summer semester. Register for this exam in the College of Education, located in Abernathy Hall, Room 216. The essay must be 300 words or more, and all sentences and paragraphs must be clear, concise, and cohesive. Use transitions between paragraphs. Review the essay for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and usage errors.
DAY OF THE TEST
A picture ID is required to take the test, and your name must be included on the registration
roster.

Alabama Electrical Contractors Board
Alabama law requires that each individual who is engaged in the electrical contracting business or performing work as an Electrical Contractor or Electrical Journeyman to be licensed. To become licensed, an individual must first complete the appropriate application with the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board. Applications are reviewed quarterly and deadlines are posted online at the Alabama Electrical Contractors Board website. Once you have been approved for testing, the Board will notify you that you are eligible to contact Prov to schedule your examination. You will be eligible to take the exam within 90 days of the approval date. Failing candidates must re-apply each time they test.
Alabama State Board of Auctioneers
Alabama law requires that each individual who is engaged in the auctioneer business or performing work as an auctioneer or apprentice auctioneer to be licensed. To become licensed, an individual must first complete the appropriate application with the Alabama State Board of Auctioneers. Applications are posted online at the Alabama State Board of Auctioneer website. Once you have been approved for testing, the Board will notify you that you are eligible to contact Prov to schedule your examination. You will be eligible to take the exam within 60 days of the approval date. Failing candidates must re-apply each time they test.
